TORONTO (Ticker) - Toronto FC on Tuesday waived midfielder Laurent Robert four months after he signed with the club.

Entering the season, the Houston Dynamo were expected to be atop the Western Conference. Many saw CD Chivas USA as their biggest obstacle. Only Houston has followed through on those expectations heading into its matchup with Chivas USA on Wednesday night at Robertson Stadium. The Dynamo (7-4-8) are the two-time reigning MLS Cup champions despite not winning a conference title.

The New England Revolution are being tested with a lot of games in a short span. Things won't get much easier on Wednesday night when they host Eastern Conference rival D.C. United for their fifth game in 16 days. The Revolution (10-6-3) won their first SuperLiga title on Aug. 5 by beating Houston 6-5 on penalty kicks after playing to a 2-2 tie.
